The rigorous courses I took with Dr. Wieland reinforced my skills as a reading teacher by providing me with the tools I need to implement meaningful small group instruction in my classroom every day. [ . . . ] Without these classes, I would not have been as prepared as I was to take a job with a focus on small group reading instruction. Dr. Wieland had a major impact on my ability to teach reading and also inspired me as a teacher. She has a strong compassion and drive to influence young teachers.
