So many more words make sense to him now!

Public comment about Vocabulary Building with Latin and Greek Roots and Affixes, Level 2 on Outschool:

By the way, as I had mentioned before, [my son] is dyslexic, and thus has some difficulty with written work. I signed him up for the 2nd part of this class because he told me I had to. He told me that so many more words make sense to him now because he can see how they add up. He thinks more mathematically so these classes have put pieces together for him that he was unable to connect before. This is the first language class we have done that he has personally requested to continue! So, thank you for all you are doing. It is making a difference for him, and he is enjoying it!

The teacher followed the lead of the students

Review of Vocabulary Building with Latin and Greek Roots and Affixes, Level 4 on Outschool:

My son took three Latin and Greek Roots and Affixes classes and enjoyed them all. He liked that the class was flexible, the teacher followed the lead of the students, and making slides each week. He felt that it was easy to participate in discussions and was never stressed about homework, even though there was an assignment each week. – Rating 5/5

MY SON RAISED HIS TEST SCORE BY 140 POINTS

Karen is passionate about teaching! It is obvious to her students that she loves what she does, bringing much knowledge and  enthusiasm  to every session. Karen tutored my son for his SAT’s and with her guidance and support he raised his test score 140 points. The time restrictions with standardized testing is extremely challenging for students with dyslexia. My son is currently a honor student without support in high school. He was frustrated and struggling when it came to SAT/ACT. Karen spent time explaining how to prepare and take the test, as well as working with him to explore strategies that had him confidently walking into the test center, fully prepared. I can say, with much assurance, that I would recommend Karen to any student. Thanks Karen!

I'VE SEEN MY DAUGHTER'S CONFIDENCE SPILL OVER

Karen M. Wieland, Ph.D. has given my daughter the skills and confidence to look at a unknown word and decode it without the anxiety that she used to deal with when reading. I’ve seen that confidence spill over into her writing and spelling as well. These classes have been wonderful for her. Thank you, Dr. Wieland!
