BEST EDU PROF I'VE HAD AT ANY INSTITUTION

Dr. Wieland is by far the best prof I’ve had at Bona and the best Edu prof I’ve [had] at any institution. Her classes are demanding and worthwhile. I learned a lot. Assignments are not easy but will help students understand the course objectives. She is very willing to help students in anyway: office hours, study help, Skyping, even independent study courses.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AT ITS BEST

As facilitator, Karen coordinated the monthly meetings and facilitated book selection and discussion. The group involved 10 active members. Karen’s book recommendations were always outstanding. Her vast knowledge of reading research always resulted in some very interesting books for the group to read and discuss. Consequently, discussions were always so rich with information. Our book group learned a great deal about teaching reading from Karen and from each other. This was professional development at its best.

SURPASSED MY EXPECTATIONS

I always felt challenged yet equally supported by all my professors. Then, I met Dr. Wieland, and she surpassed my expectations even higher for exceptional faculty.
