Dr. Karen Wieland’s course was so incredibly helpful for our daughter. During the course of the class she went from a struggling reader who didn’t want to work on her reading to an engaged and excited reader who loves to learn. I believe this change was due to Dr. Karen’s organized and efficient lessons, yet joyful and exciting method of teaching. I simply can’t speak highly enough about Dr. Karen. Truly Joyous ExperienceAs always, a truly joyous experience, this is my third child climbing up through all the levels of the fantastic Latin and Greek Roots courses with Dr. Wieland. Two others have completed all available! This course, for my youngest, to be followed by Dr Wieland’s Latin courses. DEEP KNOWLEDGEI have had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Karen Wieland since 2013. We worked as colleagues for two years in a university graduate literacy program. Under her mentorship as my department Chair, I grew in my knowledge of preparing future reading specialists/coaches to work in schools. I was privy to the great work that Karen did with our graduate literacy candidates in their clinical practicum course. She led students in their work with multiple children who were clients for the Reading Center that Karen ran. Karen’s knowledge of diagnostic assessment and remediation allowed our graduate literacy candidates to be well-prepared and competitive in the job market. Karen and I both spent time working with adult learners in a community literacy program and her knowledge of assessment and remediation for reading difficulties proved invaluable in that context as well. Karen and I have also worked collaboratively on multiple scholarly pursuits. Together, we obtained three research grants, whic… Read more

A wonderful course. Excellent in all aspects. My daughter loved it, the children are offered superb opportunities for participation and for their own research. Invaluable. The children are so lucky to have access to this kind of etymological tuition and insight early in life. Very highly recommended. A whole new perspective on the English language for my daughter, adults around her remark on her vocabulary. Wish I had this offered to me, when I was nine years old. Dr. Wieland is a fantastic, gifted educator. ….I cannot say enough good things! – An opportunity not to miss. Rating 5/5
