Class is entertaining and very informativePublic review of Multisensory Phonics for Word Recognition (Decoding) and Spelling (Encoding) Level 2 on Outschool:
This class is entertaining and very informative. Note to parents, you get the best value if you do the homework with your kids as one class builds on the next. My kids as well as I enjoyed Dr.Karen’s class and teaching style. Overall rating: 10 Content: 5 Presentation: 5 Logistics: 5 Value: 5

We are absolutely loving the Latin and Greek Roots seriesPublic review of Vocabulary Building with Latin and Greek Roots and Affixes, Level 1 on Outschool:
Great class and Dr Karen is a wonderful teacher! We are absolutely loving the Latin and Greek Roots series of classes. Rating: 5 / 5
Strengthened KnowledgeMy son really enjoyed his time in this class. He gained so much from Dr. Karen about the root of words and language. It has strengthened his knowledge and application of words into his daily work.
I FEEL PREPARED AND READY[ . . . ] I believe that without the aforementioned courses and Dr. Wieland’s presence, I would have been struggling to tread water my first few years, compared to how I feel, which is prepared and read to apply what I learned and practiced in my own reading classroom.
MY SON RAISED HIS TEST SCORE BY 140 POINTSKaren is passionate about teaching! It is obvious to her students that she loves what she does, bringing much knowledge and enthusiasm to every session. Karen tutored my son for his SAT’s and with her guidance and support he raised his test score 140 points. The time restrictions with standardized testing is extremely challenging for students with dyslexia. My son is currently a honor student without support in high school. He was frustrated and struggling when it came to SAT/ACT. Karen spent time explaining how to prepare and take the test, as well as working with him to explore strategies that had him confidently walking into the test center, fully prepared. I can say, with much assurance, that I would recommend Karen to any student. Thanks Karen!

HIGHLY EFFECTIVE TEACHERDr. Wieland is a highly effective teacher. She has a VERY strong command of the material – her vast repertoire of knowledge is positively astonishing. She inspires and motivates me to be the absolute best educator that I can be. Dr. Wieland’s high expectations and thoughtful instruction has had such a profound impact on my life as a student this semester. This instructor knows what she is talking about. She studies it, is aware of other research being done, sticks to the topic, and she always has time for her students…even though sometimes not herself. She is the best professor I have ever come across and I have been to many colleges. She will give you what you paid for! – Anonymous student feedback
Fun atmospherePublic review of Vocabulary Building with Latin and Greek Roots and Affixes on Outschool:
My son thoroughly enjoyed his experience with Dr. Wieland’s class. Learning Latin and Greek roots using Google docs gave him the sense of teamwork with his fellow students. The fun atmosphere created by the instructor and students was a great benefit to remembering what had been taught during class. Rating 5/5
Teaches With Her Whole HeartCan’t thank Dr.Karen enough for her passion of teaching. She not only shows the kids the enjoyment of learning, but also teaches with her whole heart even though there were only two kids in this session. My kid is super lucky to have a teacher like Dr.Karen. Thank you Dr.Karen for making this Vocabulary Building with Latin and Greek Roots & Affixes as one of my kid’s favorite learning subjects. She is so happy that she finished all level of the lessons with you.

Worth every pennyDoctor Wieland is a gifted teacher. My child went from Latin being her least favorite subject to her most favorite subject. She looks forward to every meeting with Doctor Wieland. Doctor Wieland has gone above and beyond to help our child prepare for the National Latin Exam. I have recommended her to anyone who will listen. Her expertise and obvious passion for teaching is worth every penny.
Dr. Karen is able to give individualized attention even in a group settingPublic Review of Vocabulary Building with Roots & Affixes – Suffixes on Outschool
Dr Karen Wieland is an amazing teacher- she engages her students with a variety of tools and is able to give individualized attention even in a group setting. Our student has really taken to the class and looks forward to it every week and is very diligent with homework. Highly recommend. Rating: 5 / 5
BEST EDU PROF I'VE HAD AT ANY INSTITUTIONDr. Wieland is by far the best prof I’ve had at Bona and the best Edu prof I’ve [had] at any institution. Her classes are demanding and worthwhile. I learned a lot. Assignments are not easy but will help students understand the course objectives. She is very willing to help students in anyway: office hours, study help, Skyping, even independent study courses.
Truly Fabulous TeacherMs Karen is simply amazing. My son took classes with her in group setting and one on one classes as well. She kept him engaged with both settings. She is very knowledgeable and truly a fabulous teacher that knows how to teach.
Dr. Karen made the class a safe area to make mistakes
Public review of Vocabulary Building with Latin and Greek Roots and Affixes, Level 1 on Outschool:
Our son is 10 and enjoyed learning about the building blocks Greek & Latin roots into words he uses as well as understanding how to explore the meaning of new words; we could see the wheels turning in his head during the class. He took chances on words that were similar to what they were learning but did not have the same meaning and Dr. Karen provided wonderful redirection and made the class a safe area to make mistakes, which is important to us in our sons learning. Rating 5/5
Really Great Over ZoomDr Karen is really great over Zoom and kept our wriggly 7 year old engaged. She taught him new WRS techniques that have really helped him.
I'VE SEEN MY DAUGHTER'S CONFIDENCE SPILL OVERKaren M. Wieland, Ph.D. has given my daughter the skills and confidence to look at a unknown word and decode it without the anxiety that she used to deal with when reading. I’ve seen that confidence spill over into her writing and spelling as well. These classes have been wonderful for her. Thank you, Dr. Wieland!
