Great Energy – Positive Online Experience
My daughter has taken a few classes from Dr. Karen and she never disappoints. Great energy, positive online experience. Though I don’t listen in on the class, I hear saying different kids names to engage everybody. My daughter sees Latin everywhere now- grateful she has this opportunity. Thank you Dr. Karen!

Dr. Wieland is a fantastic, gifted educator
Public review of Vocabulary Building with Latin and Greek Roots and Affixes series on Outschool:

A wonderful course. Excellent in all aspects. My daughter loved it, the children are offered superb opportunities for participation and for their own research. Invaluable. The children are so lucky to have access to this kind of etymological tuition and insight early in life. Very highly recommended. Review of Multisensory Phonics, Level IV on Outschool:

My daughter took a series of these classes with Dr. Wieland. They were exactly what she needed. Her reading improved almost two grade levels through this class and at home practice. I highly recommend this teacher and class. She kept the kids interested and engaged through what was a very rigorous class. – Rating 5/5

Since that time, she has worked with my daughter, first specifically on the Wilson Reading [program], and then branching out to include improving her contextual comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary as well as her reading motivation. While my daughter does not yet read at grade level, she has made significant progress, w… Read more

Great Sense of Humor and Enthusiasm
I took a survey on Outschool the other day and they asked me what they could do to make Outschool even better. I said that they should clone Dr. Karen Wieland and have her teaching a lot more classes. I feel like a lot of other Outschool teachers could really benefit from taking a page out of your style guide. The way that you chat with the students and get them warmed up and comfortable, you really allow them to make their discoveries for themselves, and just the way that you maintain a great s… Read more
